Turfmanzi Irrigation (Pty) Ltd, trading as TMI Irrigation, is the responsible party for personal information processed in operating this store. This notice explains how we handle personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information and sources
We collect contact, billing, delivery and order details you provide; account details when you create an account; and information in your communications with us. Shopify and service providers also supply transaction confirmations, delivery updates and technical information such as device, browser, IP address and website interactions. Payment details are processed by the checkout payment provider. Do not email passwords or full card details.
Why we process information
We use information to process orders and payments, deliver goods, manage accounts, provide support and returns, maintain accounting records, prevent fraud, secure the store and meet legal obligations. Depending on the purpose, processing is based on performing a contract, a legal obligation, a legitimate interest recognised by law, or consent.
You may choose not to provide information. Contact and delivery details needed to fulfil an order are necessary for that transaction; without them we may be unable to fulfil it. Optional marketing consent is not a condition of purchase.
Marketing and cookies
Marketing is subject to applicable consent and direct-marketing rules. You can unsubscribe using the message's unsubscribe option or contact us. This does not stop necessary order messages. Essential cookies support the cart and checkout. Analytics or advertising technologies may process usage data; where consent is required, it must be obtained. Who receives information
Relevant information is shared with Shopify, payment providers, carriers, accounting and communication providers and other service providers supporting the store. Information may also be disclosed where lawfully required to authorities or professional advisers. Disclosure must be limited to its purpose and subject to appropriate safeguards. Service providers may process information outside South Africa; these transfers must meet POPIA's applicable cross-border requirements.
Retention and security
We retain information for the purposes for which it is needed and applicable legal, accounting and dispute requirements. Retention depends on the type of record and its purpose. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards; no system can guarantee absolute security. Where a security compromise occurs, notification to affected people and the Information Regulator must be made when required by law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information we are no longer entitled to retain, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing or records that must be retained. We may verify your identity before responding and will explain any lawful limits that apply.
